I kind of disagree with what you have chosen to lvl on as it is not THE fastest.
my suggestions:
-1 buy 3 bird snares and 5 box traps off the start and 1 of the rest as u mentioned, also grab 5 ropes and 5 nets
-2 catch copper longtails at lvl 9 till 19
-3 catch tropical wagtails untill 29
-4 hunt red salamanders untill 70 not 99, chins are actualy faster, i have 99 hunter if u wana contest it go ahead but im telling u chins are faster
rest seems just fine
edit: didn't realise this guide was a year old
im still getting use to the fact were in 08 now
