Another method for hunting chins that you could add in addition to yours is

Place boxes around 1 chin spawn in 1900+ world and keep resetting once you catch it. If it escapes, shoot it with arrows and it will respawn pretty fast.

It's around the same xp as your method, but you only need 1 chin spawn.
