1-40 via quests and such it's ok
40-60 via superheat gold ore with gloves, takes around 3k ore, just buy the gold from blast furnace, think I spent ~3m, was pretty shite
60+ you can do blast furnace for free and just do gold for big xp, or at 68 iirc mith plates for profit in bf

Honestly it's not that bad of a skill, it's super fast if you make like 20m or something and just do gold to 99

100 combat/full void -> ranging blue dragons/70 prayer -> mory hard/training con

Once I do these and get a nice poh house situated, then I'm gonna grind some ranger boots
