2/3 rule is typically used in d2 trades where whoever has 2/3 or 3/3 of more gold, posts, and/or older join date goes second in the trade.

So I might say "due to join date and gold please send first" for example

I use this for runescape. I would ask the client to leave the gold in inventory or send the fg first if they fail the 2/3. Otherwise i recommend me finishing and them verifying before meeting me at a ge. I dont even strictly follow this if I dont think you are a rand.

As a side point. In many cases I use my own equipment. A bp and brimstone ring and armour and darts i usually supply like 10mil at least of equipment that is for a 3-5 mil job.

So I indeed take on risk considering a douchefuck could force log me out and scam 500fg worth of osrs equipment from me. So it isnt all peaches and roses for me neither brosephs

Someone's gold count and post count really offer nothing towards their accountability or lack there of. I think the only thing I would ever consider to be a worthy factor is their join date. While this usually isn't the case, I find someone with an older join date to be more trustworthy.

Older join date is the staple I fully agree.

Post count I mean... PICKER is never going to scam anyone. He cares wayyyyyyyyy to much about his post count. He isnt the only one. Especially on diablo 2 side where peoplelive and die by the 2/3 rule.

There are guilds for post count. There arw threads for post count achievements.

And gold well.. fg has monetary value so im packing 180 dollars on me right now in a sense. Do I really want to risk 180 dollars getting locked for one job/item/trade/rush? It does matter

I mean to all their own, really. I guess I'm simply getting at using a rule like the 2/3 rule which has many holes because of exceptions which is almost always the case, leaves a lot of room to be fucked over. I usually don't care enough to call a mediator, and am always giving / going first to make the trade go quicker. Obviously the bigger the trade, the more careful I am, but I have been scammed a couple times in my days by adopting this logic, I must admit.

2/3 rule isnt perfect because a transaction still requires the founding principle of this websites success. Which is trust.

Most transactions on here 2/3 rule makes it safe

We all are here becauae we know this is the most trustworthy osrs trade site on the interwebs.

The way I see it. Respecting the 2/3 rule is a step towards that trust.

I have used med for cases where i lost the 2/3 but still didnt trust the person due to whatever reason on an individual case by case basis. Usually if they have warn lmfao which I have warn so I would prolly ask me to go first haha



I personally have never been scammed (OR MY BROTHER, WHO TAUGHT ME IT) using the 2/3 rule.
