Ladder ruins every game.

Can only rinse and repeat so many times with no end goal in site.. before moving on.

We only played d2. For ladder reset for the high pricing. Whats that last a month. ? Then most quit and wait for reset.

What would be the point other then an easy fg grab.

We stopped playing d2 when ladder was released and our computers took over..

-1 to osrs ladder

The point of ladder is to be at the top :hail:
Would it be like a d2 ladder reset? of course not. There'd be no increased price on drops or huge upswing in activity for trading followed by mf bots.
Simply measuring yourself against others in a fresh way :)

So on a fresh restart server.. your saying the prices will resemble the normal game ?. So first whip drop is gonna sell for 2.5.?

So 1m at 70ish fg ?.

With no pride. Nothing really to lose. Would just be a bot fest.

Sure if rs did a server wipe and true reset it would, that's not what we're talking about here though Oo
/e as far as bot fest nothing would be different. You could bot the weekly comp aswell but would you really want to risk the account getting ripped? Don't really see the difference on that point.

:) i enjoy playing this game.. cant say that about most.

I imagine on this game with the bans. People just make a few hundred characters. Xfer every few hours. Rinse and repeat.

Used to play a game where they actually stopped lvls 1-70 from gaining gold or drops. And just added special npc items obtained threw tokens to stop it.

You really need to check out Path of Exile for a very well done ladder system.

:) im going threw osrs on my phone (never played before 5 months ago ish) thats my goal. Somethings are hard..

End game is all about pvp. Once you have owned game. The only real challenge after that is to own in pvp.

i think its a good idea but not reason plausible.

either way if you have a normal account or ironman the people who are able to dump time into the game will easily win.

if you do mains, people can just toss money at the accounts to easily get shit done.

if you do ironman, a lot of us already have ironman that we play on and it would just be a dead account as soon as event was over.

i feel the only way this would work is if you had a large amount a players doing this (20+) and you split them into groups that are also large (5-10+) because every group will have people who quit and tryhards and that will make it a more fair play.

then again if 1 group gets fucked, what the point?

i guess if 1 group had 4 people that quit you could take 2 active people from the other group...

i just don't see a format of this working where as it would be fair, and especially if there was a buy in i dont think it'd work

E/

you could do an item reset every week? just like the skills but with items.

the person who gets xxxxx item in the least kc wins, but then you'd have to trust ur members honesty

This is apparent and obvious for every game

obviously, same thing as every weekly skill comp.

Not necessarily, you could still continue to play the account since it's a jsp ladder it's not like your account is getting wiped when the competition finishes

Agree'd with i don't think there should be a buyin. But as far as it being unfair i don't see that. Everybody is on the same foot allowed to do the same things, the only groups should be Ironman and non ironman IMO. Why split into further groupings? How and who would decide these? Just random generator? Makes no sense to me in that aspect.

No that would not work lol, if you wanted to do some sort of weekly pvm competition i would totally support it but should be a totally different thing

Replied. I don't think it needs quite the depth of sub groups/item wiping. Obviously people will push ahead and fall behind, 6 months is a good amount of time.

all i know it is would have to have an iron clad format that couldn't be abused and would need a good amount of people to participate to make it even feel like a competition
