It's unfortunate to see this kind of behavior to be quite frank. I'll remind everyone of a few things:
- The host of this competition (and myself) volunteer our time to keep this running. It's silly (the nicest way I can put it) to call MrSK lazy; both given the prior statement and the fact that you have no idea what's going on in their life. Why attack someone doing something nice for the community?
- As previously stated, there are many methods to automatically track your progress so you don't need to worry about this. If you're playing on mobile obviously that's not possible, however, requiring 2 manually updates (clicking a button) in a 7 day period. You can also ask nicely if someone would be able to do it for you, as there are plenty of helpful members in the community that would be willing to do so. If that is too much effort for you to participate in a fun competition with rewards, this may not be the best competition to sign up for.
- If you have a suggestion, it's always appreciated that you share it in a respectful and appropriate way. In this case that didn't happen, but I still understand the suggestion that can be taken from these complaints/bickering and I myself will adjust things to avoid this misunderstanding in the future.
- As a last note, please understand this weekly skill comp has been running for a VERY long time. Things have changed and (for better or for worse) the skill comp as it exists now is second nature to most of the community; they already know what they should do (if anything) while participating. As someone relatively new, you didn't - and that's okay and is bound to happen (and is likely something the community didn't think of, as, it's hard to think like a new community member when you've been apart of it for years). Nothing is perfect, but the behavior exhibited here isn't going to help anything. It went from helpful to over-the-top attacking real fast. Not cool.
- If we can't play nice, this skill comp can and will be removed until such a time where we can treat each other decently. It's been done in the past. Be nice. If someone else isn't being nice, let myself or another moderator level staff member know and we'll take care of it. If you don't have something productive, fun, or meaningful to add, it's probably not a good idea to post it.
^MrSK Thank you for continuing to volunteer your time to run the event; it's greatly appreciated (and how easy you make my part in it)!
^RSCommunity Thank you for participating and keeping this event alive and well, and please keep in mind what I said in the bullet points above.
^Cheeya You're welcome to continue participating (I'll be editing the rules to add some guidance/clarity shortly), and please keep in mind what I said in the bullet points above.
P.S. A poll will be coming out shortly, please vote!
