Just going to add my two cents in here and leave the conversation. If anyone would like to respond to my statements towards me, feel free to talk with me via PM or in game.
The kind of issues we are having right now are the ones that kill chats.
Drama. Everybody so badly wants somebody to be in charge and they want power. The thing is, why do we need the power? We rarely have issues with people being annoying, rude, ect. The community we have right now is a fairly nice one. However since the whole Mike and Jeff thing started there has been a LOT of conflict in the chat. It is causing turmoil within the chat and making people not want to be there anymore. D2jsp and Rssection are two different things. Yes, we go to Rssection because of this site, but at the end of the day remember you are still on Runescape. What you say and do on there is at your own risk, so be careful what you say. When we make a trade on Runescape we do not speak in game for that exact reason(even via PM at times.) The chat is no exception, so end that argument and problem.
Aside from that, who are we trying to keep out? The people who caused us problems have been banned from the chat. They do not go in, sure they may complain on here in this thread but who cares? I've been frequent in the chat for about 2 months or so now and I've not seen
any problems until the past week and that problem is everybody wants ranks everybody wants power. Yes, I do believe that there should be somebody in the chat at all times with the ability to kick. However, I do not believe that power should be to Generals only. I believe lower ranks should be able to kick too(of course, from a certain point on.) That way if somebody were to go power hungry they can be removed by a further up. If you're going to do a ranking system, there needs to be more power gained as you move up in the ranks, not just one rank having it all and the others being meaningless.
Of course, things were going just fine before without any of these changes, with the occasional problem. Things could continue to go fine without implementing any of these changes. Ultimately it is up to whoever is in charge now, which I assume is Mike. Just consider what I've said about destroying chats. I enjoy having this nice little place to chat and hang out while I play Runescape.
