No, I, nor do most people, think that this subthread is the place for asking questions that can be easily and better answered on osrswiki. Asking for advice is one thing, because that requires opinion that isn't on the wiki, but asking to get caught up to speed is completely different.

and no, people don't typically ask very basic questions without being directed to the wiki after being answered, from what i've seen.

There's nothing wrong with looking for human interaction. There is nothing wrong with asking question on a generalist-based runescape sub-forum. Guiding people to the wiki as if it is the only means to gaining knowledge is the real ignorance. You're just too blind and stupid to see that.
