One point having 99 rune crafting was a respectable. it aint shit now.

That was mostly because of skillcapes, more people going for very high skills/maxing, and increased usefulness of the finished products(Potions namely). Back when you profited from skilling, exp was slow, and grinding was nonexistent. The only way that bots really inflated prices was that they brought a ton of more gold into the game, but this didn't really happen until after trade limit was removed.
