Thanks all for the replies!

Despite all the warning I am going to give this game a go... I've kind of missed being truly immersed in a game since early D2.

I've purchased 1 month membership and currently playing through the tutorial.

Is the mobile version the same? As in I can use my normal account and membership to play?

Do quests! They will give you skills/goals to work on to complete. The rewards from them will help a ton as well

Thanks everyone for the replies and 'encouragement'

I've finally finished helping the cook and sheering some sheep!

I'll continue questing for now. It's a little overwhelming with the amount of quests and no specific order, but I guess that's part of it

My best advice is just enjoy the game, and do what you want to do. Worrying about efficiency, order of doing things etc. just makes the game more stressful for first timers. Once you have a solid 3 months under your belt you can start setting more concrete goals which will result in a more focused and efficient playstyle naturally.

I agree. I've spent too much time already just reading about the game rather than enjoy playing it.

Again I appreciate everyone's replies. I will continue to play and use this topic to keep track of some progress

Thought I'd give a quick update... currently lvl 30 with all f2p quests complete apart from dragon slayer and shield of arrav. Done tree gnome village and waterfall quest too!

Loving this game if I'm honest... my only regret is not playing it sooner. Already made a couple of in game friends and I have a bank balance of around 500k

It's ironic that around 15 years ago I used to laugh at my cousin for playing this game... now here we are

I've had a sudden urge to give this game a go... I've literally never played it.

Should I try the current RS or old school? I like the retro look of old school and it seems to have a bigger player base

Secondly, where do I start as a complete beginner? I obviously want to learn the game myself but a the same time don't want to waste hours and hours doing stuff I don't need to. A point in the right direction would be appreciated

Feel free to hit me up any time i am more then willing to help you out and explain things to you. I also run a Pvm clan so if you are ever interested in learning how to boss/raid join the clan chat or pm on here. Anyways best of luck and welcome to Runescape my friend! :)
