If a company was to be transparent and say something like
"Our revenue has stagnated, and as a company, our goal is to continue to create value that will increase revenue. We've had a hard time brainstorming ideas that can continue this upward trend for the company and for players, and are asking for help from the community. Do you have any ideas that you'd like to see that you'd be willing to pay/subscribe to?"
Cool. No problem there; collect some ideas from the community and see whats popular (if anything).
Not a huge fan of doing your job for ya - but I like the transparency, honesty, and willingness to hear player ideas.
What I don't want to see is the mobile-esq style of creating problems/gates that can generate revenue by "solving them". It's the mobile game way of doing this (or was, at least - I don't mobile game).
