Don't know how I feel about the roses being on a guy....Any particular reason?

It's actually the old IBA. It's just got an LBV wrapped around it. We can't afford the new shit.
It's just range gear. I'm currently non-deployable, so they really don't give a damn what we strap on as long as we've got something.

then my helmet is one of the ww2 helmets it feels like compared to the one i had in my last unit..

Yeah, they don't even bother issuing us plates. We have the new kevs, but they only issue them out to officers, of course. I guess I don't rate to be comfortable.

Navy attached to Seabees. The Navy builders who act like marines. No insignia because it goes on the center of cover and center chest on these uni's and no logo for E-3 since I got knocked down back in the day, and just counting the days until no longer a slave.

If he's Navy he could potentially be an E3 without any insignia on his collar or cover. Definitely not a Marine, though, or head at least have an Eagle, Globe, and Anchor on his cover, regardless of rank.
