I am not so sure on the GE tax. I feel the price will be adjusted to account for this removal. Seems like it benefits those who have a significant amount and can control higher item pricing.

It will remove gold from the game, which helps stabilize the economy, but I am wondering how theyr going to balance buying the items from players for removal.

Do I just accept a 2b buyout on a twisted bow or something?

Edit; I expect to see a rise in player to player trading which is nostalgic in a way

They wouldn't be overpaying on a tbow, it's just if you sell, you get the cash that was "Removed" by the GE tax.
If there's not enough in that "pot" then it goes to player purchase instead of the "pot" purchasing the item.

At least, thats how I'm seeing it.

Depends how many jagex wants to delete per day. Once it hits the limit for the daily deletions it'll just be player to player transactions for said item in the ge.

I'll buy one from u for 200m lmk

I would love if they did this again.

The more gold donated the more that was donated to charity, it's an amazing idea and more people donate than you'd think! :)

This won’t happen just because jagex has to fork out cash. Ge tax will be used to create gold sink long-term so maybe they do this (and I’d love it) to accelerate the sink.

As for GE tax and balancing with removing items, I had the exact same thought but I don’t think it will be an issue. At first I was questioning how it would balance, but after listening to the stream, they clearly don’t have that part figured out. Tax will be a general fund for buying items but that doesn’t means they’ll just buy items either. Gotta pick the right ones. And so I’d assume they balance through how many items they choose to buy.
