Haha no worries, I actually dont know how to make videos mainly just a stupidly extensive knowledge of OSRS and other games I have played and enjoy helping others.
Im going to probably write up a full guide/QOL thread and Bolt/Red/underline it and then make it for all styles, like Pure / Zerker / etc, I definitely dont need to monitize it at all but I wouldnt turn down donations for making it but I really dont mind at all :)
Id estimate an hour or two until I finish atleast the Main thread Ill make.
As previously stated, just food for thought and a kind suggestion.
What is 10 hours invested into watching how-to videos vs. the potential outcome? Just the way I look at it, I would never invest time into bossing if there were no potential outcome. If you've received one or more 1/3k, 1/4k, 1/5k, or even 1/36k drops throughout your time of playing rs, you would be easily assumed as a lucky individual to have received those super rare drops.
I just copied this from a Google search (likely unreliable or inaccurate information) and pasted the below:
"In its annual report on the state of global wealth, Credit Suisse says 1.1 million new millionaires were created in the U.S. in 2017. That brings the total number of millionaires in the U.S. up to approximately 15,356,000,
or about one in every 20 Americans."
Even if the source that published that article is unreliable and/or provides inaccurate/misleading information, the bolded statement should be eye opening. According to that statement, either you, me, or 18 other random members of JSP are statistically likely to become a millionaire some day. Assuming the number is false, I'd be willing to bet that at least 1 in 1k is likely to become a millionaire at some point.
By no means am I saying you'd ever become filthy rich by creating OSRS content, but wouldn't it be nice to do what you love and make money while doing it? I'd happily make videos for 50k/yr+ if I had time to. But let's use Settled as an example.. First I want to say the guy has to be autistic to love the UIM game mode, and fucking sick in the brain to love it while restricting himself to a specific area while aiming to max... But over the course of the first 2 days of release, his last video had over 300k views. He is creating basic OSRS content, narrating it very well while adding many plot twists to make it very interesting, and making a massive amount of money while doing so. His autistic ways combined with his passion of playing OSRS, drive to make videos, and sheer innovation (jk about the autistic part) has led him to wealth and passive income.
Those who create extremely popular posts on Reddit and websites alike don't receive compensation for their passionate efforts. Just saying, why do the same? You and others who feel like I'm speaking to them need to monetize that shit man.
But I will stop beating a dead horse now and respond to your last message.
I too have a pretty extensive knowledge of the game but currently lack both the time and care to do something beneficial with it (is that really even possible other than monetizing it?). I'd much rather encourage guys like you to chase their dreams and explore their passions. Off subject.. again..
BUT it'd be awesome to see pictures to go along with the guide and maybe conclusive evidence and/or number equations to why one should prioritize "Item A" over "Diary B" when going for "Goal C"... so on and so forth. Be creative, make it bookmark worthy, quotable, memorable, etc. Don't exert so much time and effort like I just did and get nothing of personal value out of it.
(Honestly, if I encouraged you or any others to do something they love and makes them happy, I received every bit of personal value I wanted from this ridiculously long and never ending post)
Have a good one bud, off to bed.
