Let’s be real, $20/month isn’t a lot of money. In 1999 $5 a month at 3% inflation puts price for same service at $10 today. Plus let’s be real, inflations a lot more than 3% a year lately even though that’s what is claimed. It’s the cost of operations.

I would happily pay $20/month to keep things going.

People freak out on prices but when you factor in hours of entertainment vs cost it's still very cheap for us daily players

200 a year and if you play 2 hours a day that's 730 hours.
Almost 25 cents an hour for entertainment.

Compared to say.. going to see a movie. It's still cheap.

This right here, do i agree with Jagex doing it? no but shit is only getting more expensive, I look at RS and I play fucking 4-6 hours a day? 7 days a week - yeah I will pay 20$ a month easily tbh

Also- just stockpile bonds now if you’re worried.

Gold is $0.15/m x 15mil = $2.25 for 14 days. $100 of gold will stockpile you 44 bonds or like 600 days of membership. Plan ahead.

i was on the yearly auto-renew but i cancelled it when i saw this, mostly because i enjoy being dramatic. I'm also sitting on like 15+ bonds so uhhh

$20 per character is a lot compared to other games. PoE is free, GW2 has no monthly sub and is still receiving updates etc.

This increase isn’t for “keeping things going”, it’s for milking money out of customers. Server hosting is exponentially cheaper than the early 2000s and the devs wages has not kept up with inflation. They’re actually notoriously underpaid for the privilege of working there, and Mod Ash makes less than 75k a year last time he mentioned it a couple years ago.

Just look at this ridiculous salary the top 7 employees are making:
