I know it's called "Old School" rs, but they update everything else essentially except the graphics.
I LOVE osrs and have been playing for years but I think updating the graphics would make it a 10x better game...not even a massive upgrade but just so its not so garbage and blocky tbh lol.
Perhaps it's because osrs is just for the vets...but as a vet I'd be willing to put a lot more time with better graphics and maybe some new people would pick osrs simplicity with not terrible graphics over rs3.
I wonder if they're scared to update graphics thinking it will turn some vets away?

In my opinion, I think the graphics are just fine. One of the reasons, and I would bet some other people as well, choose OSRS over RS3 is the nostalgia of gameplay from that time back when graphics actually looked like that. The simplicity of the look and feel of the game makes it so anyone can pick it up and play, but there are still deeper mechanics in such a simply looking game. RS3 went the direction of an MMO feel with the graphical updates and playstyle, while OSRS keeps that simple, blocky, point-and-click MMORPG.. I myself do not enjoy RS3 because of the way the interfaces and graphics look and feel.

I do wish there were more games like RS out there. Multiple skills and minigames. Hundreds of quests and activities to do. It really is a one of a kind game.

it would be nice, but think of it...you either change the style completely and overhaul the entire system and probably lose your base...or keep how it is where your currently employees know how to code and design with. Making it a toggle won't happen as that is way to much and the game is already buggy enough, imagine trying to make two different engines work together

Im no runescape expert. but I feel like the graphics were best in im guessing.. 2010? or somewhere near there. back when the dragon full helm/full dragon was still epic. so maybe 2009 or near. im not sure. those were my favorite personally. right now on osrs the dragon full has little detail. but a gfx upgrade made that detail a bit better during these times and thats what I liked. then they changed it a shit ton since then and it doesnt feel like runescape anymore. full rune looks retarded. and dragon items all changed into garbage. so sad. I mean were all moved on from them but still they made it bad.

i hope for u osrs people they dont ruin the look of certain items like rune full helms and their hair stuff on top and keep it medieval and awesome. im a rs3 pl4y3r (and barely) so i cant talk about this really
