If I die in the same tick I kill a boss in an instanced room and I don't manage to see the drop, does it register in the collection log?

Vio gave you the correct answer

If you die at the same time a kill registers and the drop generates, it will be added to your collection log
If the drop shows in your chat, it's in your log

But does the drop generates every time a kill registers?

It depends what you are fighting
Lets say you kill vorkath and die to his fireball on the same tick
Vorkaths death animation and loot dropping takes longer then it takes for you to die, in this case you wouldn't get the drop, and since it is inastanced you won't get anything

Now lets say Bandos instance, you die at the same time
his is faster then a player dying, so if you both die at the same time it is very possible you see a BCP drop, it register in your collection log, and you never be able to pick it up

I can understand that logic. So basically in an instanced room you have to be able to see the drop by urself, even if it is just for a milisecond, in order for it to register in the collection log. I guess the bottom of my question is really if the instanced room still exists for a brief moment after you exit it, because if this is the case in some cases it may be that a drop registers in the coll log even if u couldn't see it.

possibly, from what i understand about instances they exist up until the point your character is located elsewhere, like in the event of dying, when you finally show up in lumby, the instance is gone so there very well maybe a second or 2 that the drop can be tracked in the log and not seen in chat

Exactly, it would be nice to have a confirmation on this. The motivation of my question is very masochistic really hahaha I'm very dry on hydra's claw on my ironman and I want to know if perhaps that is because I already missed one. A couple of times I died together with Hydra and due to its death animation not always I was able to see the drop, so I wonder if I missed one. The coll log says I didn't, so thats comforting.
