Hey guys, I have never gotten into PVP in OSRS, and figured its worth a shot and am making a gmaul pure because it seemed like a nice simple build for beginners. So I am doing all my quests and starting to train now, and the guide I was looking at said to get 50 atk, 60 strength and 70 range.

My question is, does it hurt to train higher than 60 str and 70 range? or is it best to just stay there? I am just not sure if there is a down side to it.

Sorry for the dumb question, just trying not to ruin my account already XD lol. I appreciate any feedback.

As long as you keep everything but str and range low you’re fine. Can get 99 in those two and still be good for pvp as a mauler.
Just avoid def, attack, and prayer levels.

It might also be worth it to keep the stats low for a lower combat bracket to pk in. This is generally cheaper gear wise and probably easier for practice since you dont get instantly 1ticked by all the maxed pures who have loads of experience

Well, you want to stay low combat at a start atleast - especially if you're playing edgeville pvp or PVP world.

Also remember that 1 Range/Magic levels equals to 1½ Attack/Strength level. Which is why you should keep your Range below kinda low compared to your Strength

You got that backwards. You want a higher range/magic then strength
