Tolkien is GOD compared to those authors, Salvatore is next with his dark elf trilogy but the sequels pissed me off, david eddings had a phenomenal series of the Belgariad but I couldnt get into his diamond throne book, weis and hickman have many amazing books, and a few dissapointing ones, Terry Goodking ive only read one book but it was utterly amazing, Terry Brooks ive heard of but never read anything, and ive never heard of Piers Anthony.

Anybody who says robert jordan is a good author beware.

Yeah Alfred and Halpo were two of my favorite characters and the Iron sword trilogy was nicely played out My favorite set would have to be the sword of truth series by Terry Goodkind but my overall favorite Author is RA Salvatore mainly because of the Cleric Quintet series I enjoyed the Drizzt series and the crimson shadow but Cadderly and Pikel and Ivan really sparked my love of fantasy novels smile.gif

Steven Erikson, undisputed king of fantasy these days. George RR Martin and R Scott Bakker aren't far behind though.

My fave wuld have 2 be Anne McCafferey, or Christine Feehan.
Anne's Pern series, and Feehan's Carpathian series.
