here's a poem I wrote over the summer when I was supposed to be working, lol. If you think it's just emo crap then I don't think you understood it, But I don't want to ruin it with an explination lol.
The outsider
Finding pleasure only in solitude
yet dreading isolation,
braving the daily risk of the unthinkable,
a corrupted element in a sea of automation,
filtering interaction through machines
to find refuge in anonymity
and hiding behind memorized phrases,
turning erratic conversation into a program,
thinking as one
yet unable to connect,
afraid of losing the mask,
of being discovered as a charlatan of life.
Then infinite consequence fading into insignificance
as it’s forced into the deception of reality
clutching at permanence in the remorseless shifting abyss
defining life and death,
elevated above the world,
yet writhing in the torment of too much intelligence and too little knowledge
asking questions that have no answers
until it no longer matters
and all fades into silence
so lives the outsider.
