I have to right a book report and it has to be by a British author. JK Rowling and Tolkien dont count

I like fantasy style books, lotr, harry potter, raymond feist, salvatore, dragonlance / forgotten realms, david eddings....

So I need what you guys think is a very good British author for fantasy-stuff. And also, what is the best book by this author??

Ive allready read all of CS Lewis's books, and my teacher knows this, so I cant use them, but I might be able to "find" one I didnt read yet if I cant find another good author.

So im going to end up using Stephen R Lawhead. Read his books allready so I dont need to reread

im doing Daniel Defoe, wrote robinson crusoe, pretty easy ;]

Lets try an irish one : W.B.B. Yeats
He wrote Poems and Theatre, and received the Litterature Nobel price in 1923 for his theatre composition.

Mary Shelley, wrote many classics.

Or you could go with the obscure author who has a well known name... John Galt (though I believe he from Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom but not Great Britain)
