So I just finished reading several "dystopias" and am looking to read something new. I want to get some suggestions of what I should read and why you like it. Post up, I'll be reading the one that sounds the most appealing

Any book by bill bryson (funny travel books) or Arthur Hailey (suspense).
Arthur hailey is much better than dan brown.

If ur interested in Vampires id have to say any book by Anne Rice
one of the best would have to be Memnoch The Devil in this noval the vampire lestat is snatched from the world itself by the most dangerous adversary he has ever known Memnoch, a mysterious being who clames to be the devil. Lestat must decide if he can believe in the Devil or in God. and he must decide which, if either, he will serve.
a real great book!

What kind of books are these? A nice set of books or series would be good too.

Read the Game of Thrones books by George R. R. Martin.

Very hard to catergorize these books. Extremely character based, no characters are actually safe in his novels (which is a nice change). If you go to a book store they fall under "fantasy" but these aren't generic save / kill a dragon, magician and hero take a journey, type books. It revolves around the rivalry of different kingdoms and the pacts / backstabbing / bribery etc that takes place in order to achieve control.

If you read the first one and don't like - I'll give you a forum gold tongue.gif regardless of what general genre of books you usually read.

you could go with the redwall series by brian jacques... they may look kinda bad, but are surprisingly addicting (15+ books in the series)

redwall books are addicting, but be ready for extended descriptions of make believe food tongue.gif This is a good series for younger readers maybe middle schoolish or someone older who wants to enjoy some reading and not be challenged ( still entertaining books smile.gif )

I personally always liked the badgers

The Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson, starting with Gardens of the Moon. Best fantasy series out at the moment in my opinion.
