maybe cuz it was my first book I ever finished

It's about a girl who lives in an island and theres a hurricane. When she grows up she finally leaves the island as she always had wanted to and becomes like a nurse.

The last lines of the book go something like this, not 100%.

I wander when I wonder, out under the sky.

Well it was probably just over 5 years ago

and nope its not that one

her parents are alive but her dad eventually dies(while resting in a chair)
