To show you the type of work I'm interested in, here is one of my own: (This is unedited and a rough draft)

On the first day of my release from torment,
I looked into a veil no man could portent,
And I with unveiled glory did see,
the bedazzling, frightening truth of my epiphany,
Temptation clutched me from the portside,
My escape was temporal, my peace denied,
A repugnant force compelled me starboard,
A remnant of a lost soul devoured,
But onto my light i beset my focus,
A once devoured, twice endured survivor of locusts,
Heartbeat of spring, majesty of fall,
Permafreeze of winter, the answer to summer's call,
On my journey towards the desert of sin,
My despair was bridled by a hope within.

I'm not the best, but I do enjoy poetry. I wrote this one a few Halloweens ago.

Twas a dark and eerie night
the moon was hidden, completely from sight
The wind whistled and howled through the trees
it was quite the sound, that came from the breeze

The raindrops fell frantically to the ground
the clouds clashed, and began to pound
Strays of lightning split through the night sky
as the heavens let out their battle cry

Ghostly apparitions filled the night
nocturnal spectres, creeping out of sight
Shadows danced and moved all about
the creatures of the night had decided to come out

Screeching, squalling, and shrieking could be heard
but they did not say a word
Their raucous cries were oh so clear
you could tell that they were near

The phantom presence could be felt around
but not one of them could be found
The creatures hid in darkness, eagerly awaiting plight
they were the ones that stalked the night

very nice, the concept of moon is a very positive beginning, disintegrated by the night that followed.  good job!

I originally posted these in the Diablo 3 discussion section.
They have a insinctual aversion towards the higher things in life lol.

Imagine yourself in the nephalim's place.
Your actually in Sanctuary. I'd fit right at home I think.
This is a longing of mine that I'd like to share with you, the most modern of men.

Mythos, an anagram, THE anagram.

Hidden in the depths
Of the soul of man, this attribute.
In veils, corrupted but not extinguished,
That which overcomes, that which makes possible.

Mathematical,
It is not grounded
Irrational, heir of Gods
The virtue of man, this is.

To the many
this does not speak
to the soul, of the fearless
to the soul of Imperious, it speaks.

To logic,
this cannot be.
To teleology, madness
Imperious, though, strenghtened.

A shoutout.
magog where art thou?
the order, of which you partake
they do not understand, jackherer
numbers and the brazillian, mbonellz
grasu, DuckManParkey, reset, laithan
A shoutout, to those who are different
they are admiring, your AWEtism, magog
those who do not understand, they condemn
diablo_clone, monstermunch, and rugermonkey
ressiv, frothyshoes, mewizard, cadaveri and checkout
NoHomoMenFriend and OnicchiKramDOlbaDalchi, married
tripartite, my critique, of these. tripartite, I condemned thee
Barbarians, in intellect, not in body or sprirt these modern men

An old way of life
Indifferent to culture
Barbarians and Monks
All barriers, to no avail
Attribute of old, Ancient
Achilles, Ajax, Pelopidas
Epaminondas And Hector
Sun Tzu, Tokugawa Ieyasu
The Sacred Band of Thebes
Caesar Borgia And Agathocles
Alexander, Caesar And Napoleon
All men, united through Spiritedness
This most ancient attribute of the soul
The Gods, favoring the strong over the weak
An Idea, of noblility of the soul of man, strenghtened
An ode, to the forgotten greatness of the human spirit
Forgotten, not, I say nay, covered over by petty illusions
What once was will be renewed, the phenix will rise again
Myhthos, only ashes, brought to the apex by a will of his own
Once there to be reborn, unleashed, that the spirit, the CHAOS
Once again shall the spirit of mankind be ennobled, by the one who wills.
The future of mankind is at the brink of the abyss - the possibility of creativity
Must be willed - the will to create - it is a possibility, not a necessity. Abyss, I welcome thee.

No black heart can bleed,
do you not know this, man?
Physiologically breakable, a heart
Spritually intact, the black heart lives on.
From whence this comes, where it once came.
It shall come again, renewed, the longing force.
