Hello Book, Literature and Stories section

I have been reading more lately and trying not to "judge a book by its cover" but so far Ive only liked books like Atremis Fowl and Golden Compass
Harry Potter series was good when i was younger

My friend told me to look for the Darren Shan series with Monsters/Creatures of the night

What are your suggestions?

Ex: The Girl with the dragon Tattoo, Hunger Games?

the Darren shan vampire series is for kids/"young adults", so if that's what you're looking for then go for it...
his second vampire series is more for kids than the first one is
he also write a series called the "Demonata" which I liked much more because, from what I remember at least, there's a lot of really weird shit going on in each book.

Another good "young adult" series in the same sorta genre is The Ranger's Apprentice. I thought it was pretty sweet when I read it in high school.

Really though, you should try reading The Gates of Rome by Conn Iggulden. It's historical fiction about Julius Caesar. It's not boring at all like you miiiiiight expect from a history book -- it's actually pretty dang sweet.
Conn Iggulden also wrote about Genghis Khan, which I thought was even cooler, but you are less attached to the characters so you may not find it as addicting to read as the Caesar series.

Game of Thrones is by far the best series I've ever read. Plus if you feel like being lazy about it, the first two seasons of the show correlate pretty well, so you could watch them and then start on the 3rd book which gets real intense.

Wizard's First Rule is pretty sweet too.

There's a free book on ebooks/kindles called The Gauntlet Thrown by Cheryl Dyson. It's a good one too.

^^ These. I just recently re-read Ranger's Apprentice and it was still enjoyable.

Also this.
My all-time favorite series.

You can also look into the Warrior Heir series.
