I wanna get back into reading. My favorite author is Dan Simmon's, I loved Olympos, Ilium. Some of my favorite books ever are Drood, The Terror, Flashback, and Carrion Comfort. I also like more mature weird, adult aimed horror novels that are not conventional like the House of Leaves. I guess I like stuff that seems like it COULD be real somehow, but obviously its definitely not real. Like a twist on the real world, so to speak. But no sci fi, because that ventures too far into a world that cant exist and I no longer enjoy it. Does anyone have recommendations for me? Im trying to get into Stephen King. I read Duma Key and really liked it but for some reason I really couldn't get into Carrie. I'm gonna try out the Shining. So I like horror novels as well. I also enjoy true crime stuff like Helter Skelter.

The original Dracula by Bram Stoker. You might like Crime and Punishment. And for a afternoon quickie, try The Revelation to John in the Bible. All kind of dark and thought provoking.

Slaughterhouse-Five was really entertaining xD
I'm eventually going to pick up some more of Vonnegut's novels.

I've been reading some Lovecraft stuff, he's sort of like the early 20th century version of Stephen King. Although a lot of complaints I hear are that his stuff is weird, so hey, maybe you'd like it. He only writes short stories, so it's pretty easy, just read a few every now and then. And all of his works are open-domain (or w/e the term is for not being copyrighted), so you can find them all online for free.
