Anyone read/reading these books?

I know they're primarily directed at females, but I know a lot of dudes who've read them too.

I'd like to chat about this book, there's many good and many bad aspects to this book, overall it was enjoyable, though.

my girlfriend is reading this book. Sounds like a book premised around shock.

That's basically all it has going for it.
It's not really a well written book, but the story line to it was compelling, imo.

The premise makes it where "OH MY LORD, THERE'S A BDSM SUBCULTURE?" and people are shocked by this, though it's not a new concept, whatsoever.

my girlfriend also just finished the series
she didn't seem to like it much; she skipped the bdsm parts and only read for the plot but by the end of it she was like "meh, there wasn't much of a plot, 50% of the book was sex"

i googleimage'd the author, expecting to find a hot youngish lady but it turned out to be a fat old ugly lady. shuddered at the thought of her in bdsm play...

I think the biggest part of this book is that it lets, well, fat old women, for example, imagine they could be woo'ed over by a 27 year old millionaire.

The story was lacking, the series as a whole was worth reading, but admittedly, I skipped over any sex scenes, they were very similar and just never ending, well, they were really boring and inaccurate to the style of people who live BDSM liifestyles.

It was a nice romance novel, as it were, but the sex could be removed and it could be one book, imo.

I've read these, I'd say it's worth the read. But like you said, lots of bad/good things about the books.

Sex scenes got boring after a while, felt like skipping through them.
Spelling mistakes throughout the book
Same words/sentences used throughout the book (this irritated me)
And like you guys said, it could have used more plot.

But it was a decent read, not all of it was bad.

I heard on the web, there is talk about a movie in the making for this novel.... I find it hard to grasp how the hell they'd make these books into a movie or two or three.... unless they change it up and make it much better, deleting some sex scenes.

I only know that, from many people saying it! These books were the first time I was introduced to a relationship like that. Perhaps it was a very mild case.

My wife is reading the last book in the trilogy. She says the first is good, second one is OK, and so far she does not like the third. I doubt I ever read this because I am so busy with my final year at college. When I'm finished, I plan on brushing up on my German and Fifty Shades of Grey will be the last thing on my reading list. ;-)
