ya man im reading that series. its really good since the first 10 pages or so. tried reading first book a long time ago and didnt like it (read only 4 pages). Last year i read the first book and at page 10 it kicks in and keeps going from there. even if u dont read the entire series i would suggest at least reading the first 5 books or so. Series is pretty long but thats good because it doesnt end so soon lol. Some people dont like long series but these stories center alot on relationships between the main characters so you really get a feeling for them all. basicaly good shit.

oh ya first book is called The Eye of the World i believe. second is called the great hunt. Ive read up to book 5 and im reading book 9 right now just because i have it and im bored lol.

Without 6 7 and 8 the series would make almost no sense at all.

Regardless, it's one of the better fantasy series ever written... although Robert Jordan(the author) is dying and may not finish the last book, in which case there are going to be millions of frustrated people out there...

I personally like Raymond E. Feist, some of his characters are amazing.

Calling me stupid because i think your idea of skipping books is strange?
Surely if you have time to read the other book you have time to read them in order yes? What the fuck is the point in ruining the story for yourself?

As for good series the two best ones i've found are the Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson and Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin.

uh Pick up any WoT book and it listed them all sides 11 on the back
DragonLance is a good series(Chronicles, Legends, War of Souls and all in Between)
