Amazing series... much better than the Wheel of Time imo, but I never got passed the first book of WoT... so :/

But still. Amazing.

I don't understand the high praise for this series.. It's just so, with the lack of a better word, terrible.

Haven't read the Sword of Truth, I'll have to pick up the first book this week.

Well now that I'm totally done the book I really don't know what to think. On one hand I did get drawn into and enjoyed it... on the other hand it was hard to get past the exttreemmmeelly gratutitous plot forcing that Goodkind has... something bad happens and they get in a tight spot and BOOM some new type of magic is introduced to get them out; kind of a little lazy in my opinion. Also there is a weird rape fetish thing going on.

I will disagree with some of the correlations in character archetypes (kahlan should = elayne), but they are extremely similar series. Wot came out first, and started out great, but slowed painfully. Sot came out well, but stayed about even.

I am on the latest wot book, and it seems sanderson has resurected the series. I finished Sot after the pillars of creation debut, and have no desire to continue on it.

Actually, after reading on how far the series has progressed, I went one book farther

I just finished the SoT series and loved every book. Highly Recommend
