I have to memorize and recite 2 pages from a novel of my choosing (in character). The problem is that I haven't read a book since kite runner (a couple years ago), and I don't feel like reading a whole book just to find a 2 excellent pages from the book.
What do?

My teacher referenced me to NPR "selected shorts" for reference.

If she makes an exception and allows you to do short stories, you should take a look at "Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe.

It's a good, quick read.
