What did you guys think about it?

I personally felt it was... incomplete. How Eragon just leaves, Murtagh departs etc.

I actually liked it. Most of the series was somewhat generic ( in terms of character, plot, etc), but the ending what a surprise. I was happy that he didn't end it when just a "and they lived happily ever after" but instead left it more open.
And Christopher Paolini said he'll probably come back to the world and write more books on in the future. So that's something to look forward to.

It was horrible. Porbably the worst ending to any series I've ever read. Eragon just leaves. We never founds out what happens to Murtagh, or where he goes. Eragon & Arya don't end up together?? Eragon never finds his belt. They build up an shiuld-have-been EPIC battle between eragon & galbatorix over the curse of 4 books..to have the "2 most powerful riders in the world" have a silly sword fight. Not too mention the silly-Zelda-like-traps they had to pas to reach Galbatorix. Ruined the entire series for me.

I agree, the fight was pretty lame.
