It's an entertaining read, not going to lie. But to be honest, there's nothing terribly special about it.

Nothing special except the fact that the bitches have latched onto it, making it a viable mainstream product w/ movies and whatnot. Not a bad read, though each book takes but a few hours.

I'll think about picking it up..

Do NOT read Hunger Games. Instead, read Battle Royale.

The author of Hunger Games blatantly took the theme from Battle Royale and turned it into a less gory, teen-romance book; and many reviewers have called her out on it.

Besides, Battle Royale is actually the superior work anyways.

Haha, yeah seems a LOT more gory.

Damn, didn't know there was a Battle Royale book, I saw the movie though together with some classmates and that was pretty awesome we started to discuss which one in our class would go down first and who would survive etc etc, was really fun hehe.

The movie is awesome, but I really really liked the book - so it's my favorite version of the story.

But Beat Takeshi (the actor who played the teacher) is a legend and a badass, so its hard to choose
