It's an entertaining read, not going to lie. But to be honest, there's nothing terribly special about it.

Nothing special except the fact that the bitches have latched onto it, making it a viable mainstream product w/ movies and whatnot. Not a bad read, though each book takes but a few hours.

Do NOT read Hunger Games. Instead, read Battle Royale.

The author of Hunger Games blatantly took the theme from Battle Royale and turned it into a less gory, teen-romance book; and many reviewers have called her out on it.

Besides, Battle Royale is actually the superior work anyways.

Damn, didn't know there was a Battle Royale book, I saw the movie though together with some classmates and that was pretty awesome :P we started to discuss which one in our class would go down first and who would survive etc etc, was really fun hehe.

The movie is awesome, but I really really liked the book - so it's my favorite version of the story.

But Beat Takeshi (the actor who played the teacher) is a legend and a badass, so its hard to choose :D

You mean the author of Hunger Games actually had some sort of plot instead of EVERYBODY MUST DIE.
