I'm in highschool and I love to read but Ive never really read the books that I see everyone talking about here, only the "big names" like Harry Potter, Hunger Games etc.

I like fantasy books, so hit me

I would very much recommend the Mistborn, a trilogy by Brandon Sanderson.
I've read some fantasy, and have enjoyed many of them (currently reading Lankhmar, which is quite hilarious).
But the above really blew my mind.
I could also recommend other books, but that's the one I'll recommend for now.

Steven eriksons "a tale of the malazan book of the fallen"

first book: gardens of the moon

best fantasy serie i have ever read, to be honest nothing so far even comes close.

I first started reading fantasy around 13years ago, i picked up robert jordans "the wheel of time" and i loved it, read to around book 9 and than i kinda grew tired, nothing happened in the books anymore, it was 600pages dull boring crap and 50 pages of enjoyment.
i also read other fantasy series during this time ofcourse, most notably David Eddings, i kinda liked them at first but god damn, it really is a childrens story through and through. also just read a game of thrones the first 4 books and to be honest the brightest fellow in all of those books is around as bright as your general rock so no thanks cant read more of this shit. also alot of other stuff, like harry potter but its kinda boring in comparison, sure alot of stuff happens but to be honest its just a childrens story as well.

if you want to read something from steven eriksons world and not jump into the story with your first book you can read "a night of knives" by ian cameron esslemont (the world was created by them both, steven erikson and ian cameron esslemont)

ignore them. All you need is Dune.
