But I'm re-enrolling into school this fall, and I'm hoping to find some books I can read for literature classes.

Books I DON'T like would mainly be fantasies and romance books..
Books that do really interest me are war books, fiction and non fiction. Also I'm not really sure what this genre would be, but books like Metro 2033. Oh and just thought of this, I've read a few western books and enjoyed them.

It's REALLY hard for me to find books that keep me interested.. I'm not really sure what to add -- Will answer any questions.

So basically just looking for some book recommendations. :)

Oh also hopefully someone can help me with this..
In 7th grade my literature teacher had us read a World War II book, I cannot remember what it was called, but it had a pretty unique writing style..

It was written in first person, but after each chapter (or maybe every couple of chapters) it would switch from an American soldier's view to a German soldier's view... Can't remember much about it but I remember that it was one of the few books that I actually enjoyed and would like to read again..

Anyways thanks for even reading this and hopefully some of you guys can help me out. :)

So wait ... You're looking for fiction, but you hate fantasies... I don't get it :P
What do you call "fantasies" ? :/

And the book you described indeed seems interesting :)

Fantasies like magic and all that. Like Harry Potter.. Just because a book is fiction doesn't make it a fantasy book :/

All Quiet On The Western Front is the most famous war-related "literature" I can think of. Hemingway is very good for that kind of writing though.

Science-fiction; but nothing less than extraordinary. George Orwell (the author) had it published in 1949. It's a book about how the world would look in 1984. Not very accurate, really, but an interesting read. This is the book that gets you hooked on sci-fi.

PS: It's not completely science-fiction. It revolves around politics and society.

Actually, I do have another recommendation.

The Religion by Tim Willocks

Historical Fiction. Very well written. But not for the faint of hear. Brutal. Might as well be non-fiction, really--with its descriptions.
