Ok, so this is just a very small part of my prologue. I've been writing and planning a series of books for about two and a half years now. Its not edited but I would like to see what others think of it.

The Gods hatch

Rings of molten light shot off the surface of the self combusting orb, illuminating
the black nothingness which blanketed the sun with a marvellous display of light and
raw power that was truly majestic.
There was no sound, yet Alaa could feel the vibrations reverberate all around him,
forcing him to raise a shield. He glanced across at the being who had brought him here.
“How long must we wait?” he asked silently across an established mind link. It was the
only way to communicate out in the Deep Reaches.
Alaa didn’t know the name of the one who he accompanied, although he had suspicions.
He hadn’t been given a choice in the matter, he was brought here against his will. That
such a one as he could be forced to do anything spoke of the others power. There could
logically be only one answer. An answer he would keep to himself. For now.
“Not long. The time is nearly prime.” Came the reply.
Alaa studied the form which stood beside him. It looked not too different from those of his
race. A little smaller in stature, with eyes that were larger. Yet for these obvious
differences there was little to separate them.
As he stood before the dying sun Alaa wondered what the other had meant. Prime. Prime
for what?
“I want an explanation. Why have you brought me here? I have seen the death of suns.
I know how they can either explode with fury, or dwindle into a dead sphere. What’s the
significance of being here? You have explained nothing to me.” Alaa couldn’t hide the edge
of anger which came to his projected thoughts.
Smooth and elegant the other circled the outline of the furious orb, his hand at the end
clenching as he brought it to his chest.
“You see a dying sun. I see a struggle for life. A vow. What I am to share with you, you
can share with no other.”
Alaa’s face showed no emotion. “Why me?”
“You’re different among your kind.”
“Crazy,” added Alaa.
Deep dark eyes studied Alaa. Eyes that were piercing with knowledge.
“Not crazy. Different. Your whole race could be considered crazy by the standards of other
races. Yet you, surprisingly, show attributes which make you unique. And this uniqueness
has put you in a pivotal role for all living beings. I think its ironic that from the most
destructive race of mortal beings comes the one who could be the biggest saviour of life.”
“I’m not a saviour,” contradicted Alaa. “I have destroyed worlds. Any who stands against
me must be either subjugated or destroyed.”
The other nodded with a knowing smile. “That’s what those of your race say. Yet you don’t
believe it. This is what makes you different. You have compassion and understanding. You’re
seen as crazy among your own, yet even the other Al consider you to be the most
knowledgeable among them.”
The other pointed with a pristine hand to his head. “With knowledge comes many things.
Responsibility, understanding, power, change. Because of your knowledge and understanding
you have gained great power, which has gained you responsibility. All of this has changed you.
And so I want a vow. That you will not share with another the knowledge I am willing to impart upon you.”

Thats enough. I wouldn't want to put anyone to sleep :P

I found it quite good actually. I'm very curious as to what's going on. Intriguing. I like it. Keep up the good work. I hope to be reading more of this soon.
