thought i'd share what i wrote for my mom with you guys
Here goes nothin:
How many innocent people have to die before we realize
this behavior can't go on, we need a savior
or at least a mom
to put us on the right track n give us the empathy we lack
instead of attacking people we don't know yet.
See 'fore you brought me into this world
I was curled up in your stomach
You chewed so that I could eat
and though the doctors failed, you still inhaled so that I could breath
and even if I kicked you with my lil feet
You understood cuz my heart had a little beat.
And even though we fought a lot, I kinda liked it cuz
it seemed like it was the only time that we could talk.
Raising two boys must've been a handful and
I'm sorry if at times I made your life stressful.
So I would just like to take this time to mention
that I appreciate all your love and attention, cuz
You were there for me when I fell
and though you yelled,
you never raised your hand
and so I understand from you
what it truly takes to be a man.
I can't believe that even from the start,
though you were new at this, you played your part
and had my best interests at heart.
Now I KNOOWW why Momma knows best
Cuz nooo matter what -you put me above the rest.
N' it doesn't matter what I do or what I am
I know whatever I choose you'll be my #1 fan.
Cheerin your lungs out for meh in the stands.
N' even if I tried my best and lost,
you still made me feel like a winner.
Come home and fix me a special dinner.
You make me wonder what I did
to earn this kind of affection,
Why am i the source of your inspiration? and you mine
But momma the one thing I do know and can do,
is live my life for you
in the right direction.
you mom for ALWAYS being there for me
ALWAYS supporting me
and for everything else :]
