The Unavoidable Truth

It's often said that "it doesnt matter what other's think... what really counts is what you believe". I think this is a prime example of where opptomists are wrong. being the slightly pessimistic realist that I am, I feel that this topic is just another situation where there are two sides to the story, which hardly ever agree, each equally important as the other.

Black and White, Right and Wrong, Yes and No, Left and Right... How you Feel and the Way Society Feels. It's no secret that in the limitlessly judgemental egotistically pompus boundlessly two-faced society of today, what everyone around you thinks will greatly impact your life. That FACT alone is evidence enough for me that the opptomist is wrong. In no way can an innocent person walk free of the perpetually corrupted need for blame of the American juducial system, when everyone around them thinks that they are guilty. Similarly, at no time will any person ever be hired for a job that they don't qualify for, just because they think themselves to be capable.

Life is riddled with mountains of unfair and subjective landscape followed by only hills of fair breaks. At least for the majority. The realistic and unavoidably indisputable truth is that in TODAY's world, to survive in the relentless clutch of society, you should be concerned more so with what others think, instead of fealing good about yourself. The day's when "it doesnt matter what other's think... what really counts is what you believe", is dead. There, said it. Dead. Welcome to life, deal with the fact that it sucks, or stay ignorant and die happy. Such is the way of this world.

Actually, the whole idea behind the "it doesn't matter what others think" is to promote individuality and spirituality in relation with yourself. Society only affects you if you let it affect you. At the end of the day, you're living your own life within your own world. It doesn't matter how much money you have or how many people like you, at the end of the day, you are still alone, with nobody but your body and your mind. Society is just an external force existing in an external world. It does not affect the inner person, and you should not let it affect it. Are we really living in a world with people and cities and nature and animals? or are we actually simply living in our mind and body which experience these things? This is the ideology behind the "it doesn't matter what others think". There is an existence beyond the realm of senses, and this existence resides in yourself.

can't edit but I wanted to add this:

If you incorporate too much of what others think into your own thoughts and actions, then you lose yourself. The self is destroyed, eliminating individualism and spirituality, leaving you to become just another mind and body wandering in a meaningless world.

Did you read the whole thing? What about this, not literally, but figuratively so that you get the point: "In no way can an innocent person walk free of the perpetually corrupted need for blame of the American juducial system, when everyone around them thinks that they are guilty. Similarly, at no time will any person ever be hired for a job that they don't qualify for, just because they think themselves to be capable."
