I'm not sure if there has been a thread for this before, I never post here, but I'm going to start.

Anyway, mine would be The Exorcist. I think Blatty has a gift for painting the most morbid pictures in your mind, while still leaving room for your own imagination to turn on you. I remember when I read it the first time I had trouble sleeping that night laugh.gif No book has had that effect on me since.

1984 (if you haven't read it yet, you're either still in highschool, or brain dead) because when Winston gets screwed over by Juila for such a trivial reason, it really shows how simple people can be deep down inside.

Should add spoiler to that post... and yea 1984 is kinda scary in a sense because a lot of the shit happening in the book is beginning to happen now days.

I was considering it, but thats like adding spoiler tags to Citizen Kane.

I liked The Stand by him alot. Wasn't scary, but I thought it was really interesting.
