She packed her bags, She left again.
She drove off to St. Paul
Left me in Arkansas
Hoping someday she might call
I've made my share of choices,
And there's few that I regret.
But the day I watched her walk away,
Is a day I won't forget.
'Cause whenever I think about,
The fool I used to be,
I remember all the reasons why,
She stopped loving me.
If I could go back in time,
I'd erase the things I've said.
I would appologize to everyone,
To the girl that I've mislead.
I'd make her fall in love with me,
And I'd swing for that home run,
I'd love her every night and day,
For, she was the one.
Solemn and self-reproached,
Are the only things I feel,
Loneliness cuts so fine,
The pain is so surreal.
I was looking forward to the day,
That I couldn't feel the pain,
While slowly counting seconds down,
Standing in the rain...
I wrote her a letter,
And I'll tell you what it said.
She received it at the funeral,
She wept as she read.
"Your love for me was a memory,
That chose not to be found,
You took your time and took to long,
Now I'm six feet in the ground."
End.
