By issues, I mean I read too much. I've always read multiple books at a time.
Last month I borrowed 6 books from a friend:
Omega Place,
Personal Days (Ed Park),
The Declaration,
I Am Legend (Richard Matheson I think),
The Shining (Stephen King)
What Dream May Come.

(I forgot the author's name sad.gif )

A few days ago, I bought the following:
Fahrenheit 451,
Rant,
House of Leaves,
The Contortionist's Handbook.

I was working on Personal Days (slow-moving book in my opinion) and then last night I picked up Rant and went through a chapter in a pretty short amount of time and had a hard time stopping myself from continuing.
I'm already giving up on Personal Days.

So I'm moving onto Rant (Chuck Palahniuk), and I'm not sure what other books to read after it.

I want to return some of the books to my friend, but I'm scared I'll miss out on an amazing piece of work.
I hate not finishing a book, but I just can't finish Personal Days.

If anyone's familiar with any of the books I've listed, a little input would be helpful.
I want some advice/reviews/comments on the books, because I'm just too overwhelmed.

i am legends is a short book; you could knock the whole thing down in around 4 hours.
it's such a great piece of art because of the way it's written and not so much because of the story, it paints a great picture of how more writers should be going about their word and not just putting out books like twilight that written not to appeal to a reader that as interest in the subject, but to appeal to the masses of 13 year old girls that want something from life thats magic.
if you have any interest in writting; don't let i am legend go without reading it.

there are much better stephen king books to read then the shining... i highly recommend the cell.

i'd like a short list of more books that you've really enjoyed for a better idea of what to recommend

Books I thoroughly enjoyed:
Tommyknockers
Slaughter-house Five
Breakfast of Champions
Player Piano
Choke
Lullaby
Diary
Invisible Monsters
The Perks Of Being A Wallflower
Everlost
Pure Sunshine

It's obvious I'm a fan of Chuck Palahniuk
and I enjoy Vonnegut as well

I'm currently trying to get a hold of some of Philip K. Dick's work, but Borders didn't have the book I wanted

i suggest you do 1 of 2 things with your books: use them to start a fire. it's been a cold winter and books are a great source of heat and light. second option is to stack them up next to your toilet. this i have found to be one of my favorite moves. you are supplied with copious amounts of reading material, and when youre done shitting you can just rip a page out and get a good whipe-o-rooney.

i hope my advice helps, if these are not to your liking ill try and think of some other options, but these really are my go-to moves.
