poor pacing, overall mediocre style and flow, lots of qualms with how he structures his sentences (more of an editing thing i guess)

sir i do not think you understand how the fantasy genre works

the more abstract a name is [apostrophes count double!] the more points you get
the more ideas you can lift from other authors, yet still be praised because of your age, the more points you get

the more points, the better the writing

i'd have more examples but i only read the first book when it came out and died a little inside, haven't picked up anything with his name on it since

lobb to the rescue once again

it's really bad but i'm curious as to how he will write the end, so i read the books once very quickly and proceed to throw them in a corner and hope to never look at them again

it took me a while to realize fantasy pretty much all sucks

I agree completely too.

The way I see it, most authors are really good at creating the beginnings of a potentially-great story, but after they develop their "hero" they just don't know what to do from there and they pull endings out of their ass.

Some cxcellent Examples: Robert Jordan, George R.R. Martin, Paolini...

Even before the endings, whenever they are done developing their main character then the books just suck cock, like the authors above.
