Yup looking for a new series to read, preferably something with 4-7 books in it, unless is incredible then it can be less then four or more then seven.

If you could post the series and also if I should read a series before that series so it makes sense, and things like that would be nifty.

Earth's Children was also quite neat.

Where should I start? Is there an order or are they like independent of each other?

Also I forgot to mention I really liked the Wheel Of Time series so that can give you an idea as to what I like.

I also liked the Gunslinger series and The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara was pretty cool too.

A Song of Ice and Fire- George R.R. Martin

It's an amazing fantasy series.

The Xeelee Sequence
Destiny's Children
NASA Trilogy

All by Stephan Baxter, these are science fiction series, and ones that I enjoyed immensely.

There are a couple of miniseries within discworld novels that are somewhat depended on the order. But any of the books can be picked up and enjoyed.
Quick google search found:

Seems correct to me
My favourite are the watch novels or the industrial revolution novels

George RR Martin's Song Of Ice and Fire is absolutely fantastic, though very rude(despite its stereotypical name )
btw I sold you your Said The Whale tag.

"Ender's Game" and "Ender's Shadow" (the two books are the same exact story, but viewing it from a different character's perspective - there are 4 books on each side (8 total)
