so i've heard the "wheel of time" and "sword of truth" are both great series to read.
i've been reading many other kind of books lately and i've been getting kind of tired with them.
they're not bad, i just simply need a break.
i've been reading books like 1984, animal farm, fahrenheit 451, the stranger, etc...
but now i'm looking for a fantasy book/series to pick up.
any suggestions?
and please explain why!

Whatever you read, don't buy the Sword of Truth series. It's complete and utter shit.

The Wheel Of Time is definitely worth it in my opinion... I've read the whole series three times, and I'm anticipating the 12th novel.

WoT is very good, although later books drag on far too much. It's well worth reading though, because it's a fine example of what can be done well for a story that doesn't stray too far from familiar fantasy cliches.

George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series is definitely worth reading, as is Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen series and Scott Bakker's Prince of Nothing trilogy.
