This is one of my few poems that does not rhyme bit it is also one of my most favorite works. Hopefully you enjoy it too. I realize to some people this can be offensive but it's not meant to be.

Mediocrity [The path less advertised]

If I kill you they will lable me a murderer,
If I kill everyone in this country I'll be the king,
Yet if I destroy this world I will be a god.

If I cry for myself I am a coward,
If I cry for my brother I am compassionate,
If I cry for the world I am a Saint.

If I die by my actions I am forgotten,
If I die for another I am celebrated,
If I die for the world I am worshipped.

Which path do I now desire,
Utmost power to quickly devour,
Tears of pain for history's stain,
Or my life to free others of strife.
------------
After much contemplation I am decided,
Mediocrity is the best path provided.

Did you source some of this anywhere? I can tell it is to some extent original because you made a punctuation error that seems anything bu deliberate, but I have read some 2nd World War poetry that strikes a similar note (for the life of me I can't remember the poets' names ohmy.gif).
