Your over use of capitalization and ellipses is very distracting, and that is the worse misspelling of appreciate that I have ever seen.

Anyways in regard to your request, what kind of book do you mean by "Takes Place Around The Country.. Fishing, Farming Etc"? Do you mean non-fiction guide books, history type books, or novels?
Also how well read is your father? Would have he already read most of the classic like Steinbeck or Frost?

I only commented on it because it was difficult to tell which word you had meant to spell. I don't comment on minor misspellings or typing errors, unless of course it is from someone criticizing someone else for the very same thing.

For non fiction books something about the mountain men would be fitting. You could also look into biographies of Jim Bridger, Jedediah Smith & John Johnson.

The Grapes of Wrath is a great novel, but he may already have or have read it. Of Mice and Men or well anything by Steinbeck would be good as the settings of his novel seem to be about what you are looking for. William Faulkner is also a good candidate, even if I'm not the biggest fan myself... I probably need to give him another chance though.

Might be too late, but here's my suggestion. If your dad's an avid reader, and he likes naturalist writers, chances are he's probably John Steinbeck. I'd have to agree with Louis though, I loved Of Mice and Men.

Edit: Forgot to mention My Antonia. Its primary setting is in the Great Plains, and has an old, nostalgic type of feel. Has all the requirements your dad might like. An overlooked classic imo.

Into The Wild is a great non-fiction adventure/survival story. Very inspiring.
