its scif/fantasy written by piers anthony, (if you like fantasy, i certainly hope you've heard of him)

its an 8 book series. one for each incarnation: Death, Fate, Time, War, Nature, Evil, Good, and Night.

each incarnation is an office held by a human being, lending falibilty and human emotion to various forces of human nature, etc.

kulith, judging by your signature: you would LOVE the series.

i often explain it as: an explanation of christian theology with a scifi/fantasy twist. But it'll really piss you off if you're a die hard christian.

I'll put them on my mental reading list. It's getting quite big.

I though you said the first one was "on a pale horse" not "death"
