so.. theres this guy and he loves to make bets and stuff
he meets a guy who is a famous magician, think its the main characters hero/idol.
the magician is called "king" something.. like a stage name for his magician work
and the king makes out he's really good at betting and always wins (few small examples) e.g wins at horses and 100% confidence guy
then he gets him to place huge bet down, then "king" disappears, and he finds out from friends/relatives that the king was just visage, and he is addicted to gambling too, and its destroying his life

k, so its kinda vague, but thats what i can remember, some of it might be wrong (so dont get tied down to small details i mentioned, they could be incorrect).. tell us if u know the title/author of this book, i wanna read it again!

If you want to read about gambling and you like good books, then I can only recommend "The Player" by Dostoievsky.

Not sure if it's called The Player or The Gambler in english, in french it's Le Joueur.
