I started reading The IcewindDale Trilogy way back in like 94'. For the past 20 years R.A. Salvatore has been wrinting/using the best fantasy char ever created.
First book was published in 1987 and he just had the 15th book published this year. heres a list from first to read to newest.

The Icewind Dale Trilogy was written first I think. but Dark elf trilogy is first in storyline, it was the best.

I own 11, 12, and 13. I read half of 11, couldn't bring myself to finish it. It just went on for too long, too much narration IMO.

Sorry, not my type of books. And this is coming from a guy that owns every WOT book, every Goodkind book, Nix, Pierce, Heinlein, Puzo, Tolkein, Colfer, as well as the majority of Terry Brooks books.

I like the Drizzt series better than terry brooks, actually I think Drizzt and Entreri have the best characteristics of the antagonist and protagonist.

A short list of genre authors who for the last 20 years would wipe their ass with anything Salvatore has written.

Agreed, i didn't mind the storyline...But i skimmed so much of the narration that it isn't even funny. Its sort of the same with Robin Hobb and the Farseer Trilogy; much narration to set up the scenes.
