No. In fact they're quite shit. Not 'The Shit', but just shit. They compare favorably only to the rest of the horrid crap that comprises the D&D novel list. Anyone who has actually read REAL fantasy would not give Salvatore a second though.

I am reading the Salvatore books right now. I can't say it's the best read I have had, but I enjoy it..

One thing that annoys the crap out of me, is that Guenwhyvar isn't mentioned having a gender throughout the entire dark elf triology, and then suddenly she is a 'she' (mentioned alot of times through next triologies).. Cause I imagined she as a he all the time

But saying it is shit, I haven't read alot though, I think is an overstatement!

Guenwhyvar is based on Guinevere from the Arthur legend. Besides the names, Guenwhyvar is refered to by Drizzt as his "Black Shadow" while Guinevere was known as the white shadow.

I enjoyed almost all of the forgotten realm stories, saying Salvatore is anything other than a skilled writer is a bullshit lie. He's no Terry Goodkind or Robert Jordan, but hell, who is?

Drizzt and Entreri are two of the best characters in fan. fict.

The storyline Salvatore developes is unique and it has a variety of characters and races. After his first book, the eeditors have gotten better, you can notice the typos decreased. I would love to see it made into an animation or movie, bringing Drizzt to life.

I want to bang my head against a table til my brain falls out reading this statement. RJ and Goodkind are the standards you're judging him against? No wonder you think he's good. Jesus.
