If you like a mix of crime and fantasy you should try reading The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch.

If into police n crime stuff W.E.B. Grifin has a good police series of books. Probably 8 in all Idk really I never read them but I enjoy his military books a ton and they are about the same stylewise.

Whenever I hear Eragon in a sentence that doesn't include book-burning I feel like euthanizing an entire generation.
That said, Lies of Locke Lamorra is indeed a great read.
If you're looking for crime stuff, why not go straight for the source and read Mario Puzo's 'The Godfather'. Its shit and it baffles the mind how such a tawdry little pulp novel could spawn arguably the greatest film of all time, but you're reading Eragon anyway so it is a step up.
If you're looking for fantasy that might actually break down some of those bad, redundant cliches you've been reading, try George RR. Martin's A song of ice and Fire series. Some of the best epic fantasy out there.

The movie, on the other hand, was absolutely spectacular!!

Truly hoping that was sarcasm.
